Join us for a Sensory Friendly Performance of the Nutcracker with the Boston Ballet. We will have a discounted group block of tickets in the second and third rows of the Mezzanine section.

This performance and in-theater experience is designed to welcome guests who are neurodiverse, have sensory sensitivities, and need additional accessibility accommodations to enjoy the ballet.

Some of the alterations to the performance include:

  • The house lights will not be completely dark during the show.
  • Loud noises will be restricted.
  • Some audience noise and/or talking might occur and is permitted.
  • Audience members will be allowed back to their seats if they must step away.
What to expect and what will be available:
  • Headsets will be available for audio description listening.
  • American Sign Language (ASL) ushers and interpreted announcements will be available.
  • Pre-show activities in the lobby of the Citizens Bank Opera House will start at 12pm.
  • Quiet spaces located in the VIP lounge in the lower lobby at the Citizens Bank Opera House.
  • Large print program books will be available.
  • Audience members will have access to resource materials to prepare for their visit.

Performance Run Time: Approximately one hour and 20 minutes, including one intermission.

Cost: $15 per person. Please let us know if you plan to join us by Friday, 10/30 to help us better determine the group's needs.
