All are welcome! We provide support to each other through organized events, our WhatsApp group chats, and informal sharing of personal experiences and resources.

This event is open to all WMF members, and is particularly geared towards moms who identify as having a child with special needs (in whatever way you define that).

The Mothers of Children with Special Needs ("MOCWSN") is a WMF subgroup for moms who identify as having a child with special needs, in whatever way that means to them. Some moms in this group have kids who are receiving early intervention, some are wondering whether their child would benefit from an evaluation, some have kids with an ADHD or autism diagnosis, some have a child with a genetic diagnosis, and everything in between. All are welcome! We provide support to each other through organized events, our WhatsApp group chats, and informal sharing of personal experiences and resources.

Ambitious Mother: From Surviving to Thriving in Your Career AND at Home (June 05, 2026)

Motherhood may change your ambition. As Dr. Anne Welsh shares, you may discover that you are more ambitious than ever before, or ambitious in new and different ways. In her new book Ambitious Mother (to be released in August), Welsh gives you permission to have the career and life you truly want.

Whether you're navigating the pressures of a demanding career, in the middle of a career pause, or wondering what comes next, this conversation is for you. Anne knows these experiences personally, as a mom of four kids who spent time working both fully inside and fully outside of the home. She brings clinical expertise and lived experience to the question of what ambition really looks like across the different seasons of motherhood.

Join us for a fireside chat as we explore:

Why being a working mom feels so hard — and what we can do to change this

How to find your own version of ambition that fits your values, whatever stage you're in

The Three Ps: perfectionism, people-pleasing, and pretending — and how to shed these weights without lowering your standards

Dr. Anne Welsh is a clinical psychologist, executive coach, and speaker who helps high-achieving women and working parents navigate leadership, ambition, and the realities of modern work and life. A certified executive coach (PCC) with advanced training in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), she partners with organizations including AstraZeneca, Gilead Sciences, major law firms, and others to deliver engaging talks and workshops on leadership development, burnout prevention, and managing competing demands. Dr. Welsh is also a recognized expert in supporting working parents, designing programs that improve retention and engagement through key transitions like parental leave and return to work.

Dabney Baum and Maya Tal, Programs Co-Directors
