The
Wellesley Mothers Forum offers a wide variety of activities for
mothers, mothers and children, and even some activities for fathers and
children. Here is a sampling:
Children's Activities There
are usually several activities scheduled every month between September
and June. Members may attend any or all as long as there is
availability. Occasionally, a fee may be charged to cover costs
for materials. Recent events have included a walk at Elm
Bank, a pizza party at the playground, a Dad's fire station tour,
storytime at the Wellesley Booksmith, and cookie baking. Watch the
newsletters for many great activities this year.
Helping Hands This is a
volunteer service to help members and their families in times of
need. Help can take the form of a home-cooked meal when a new
baby comes home, grocery shopping, a ride to the doctor, etc.
Playgroups Organized by the
WMF, these are a great way for you and your child/ren to make new
friends! Playgroups are assembled according to your child's age
and your availability. Generally, the playgroups meet
weekly, rotating among the member’s homes.
Special Seminars
These are periodic meetings held at smaller venues. Recent topics
have included 'Designing a Home that Your Family Can Live In', 'CPR
Training Course', and 'An Evening with the Cooking Coach.' Watch for
details in the newsletters.
Working Moms Full- and
part-time working moms share ideas about how to handle flexible hours,
daycare vs. nannies, commuting and much more at monthly dinner
gatherings.
The WMF sends a monthly
newsletter to its members throughout the year to provide them with
information about all of these activities.
